Etymology of Arabic words: the word بدروم
(bedrum) which means basement/celar is probably a loan word from Greek. The greek word is πέτριον (petrion) which means, made from stone, as it derives from the word πέτρα (petra) which means stone. In Turkish they use the word bodrum (bodrum yeraltı odası).

έχω ακούσει ότι το μπουντρούμι βγαίνει από το υπόδρομος και όχι από το πέτρινο.
