بروتين protein

Etymology of arabic words: the word بروتين
(barouateni ?) means protein and has roots in the greek language. According to Online Etymology Dictionary the word protein derives from the french word proteine coined in 1838 by Dutch chemist Gerhard Johan Mulder on the basis of the greek word proteios (πρωτείος) ="the first quality," from protos (πρώτος) = "first". In Greek we use the word πρωτεΐνη (proteini). In Turkish they use the word protein.
