الأنيميا Anemia

Etymology of arabic words: the word الأنيميا
(al-animia) means Anemia and has its roots in the greek language. The greek word is αναιμία (anemia) , is a counter loan from french language and the initial ancient greek word was άναιμος (anemos) meaning “without blood” as it was composed by the privative “α” and the word αίμα (εμα) which means blood. There is also in arabic the expression/word بفقر الدم
(bifacar adem) “Poverty of Blood” and means also Anemia. In Turkish they use the words anemi and kansızlık.
