إنجيل gospel/bible

Etymology of Arabic words: the word إنجيل
(intzil) which means gospel/bible, is via probably the Coptic language  from greek origin. The greek word is ευαγγέλιον (evanghelion) has the same meaning and is composed by the words ευ (ef) (=good) and αγγελία (aghelia) (=message).
For the christians the word ευαγγέλιον at the time period when gospel appeared had the meaning of joyous message. The gospel was written in Greek language, which was at that time spoken by many people in Egypt and Palestine. In Turkish they use the word İncil.
