كمون cumin
Etymology of arabic words = the word كمون (koumin) which means cumin comes probablly from the greek word κύμινο (kimino) which word goes back to Mycenian era (2000 BC) written with the Linear script B.
دفتر notebook
Etymology of Arabic words = the word دفتر (daftar) which means notebook
( Wikipedia: διφθέρα= book having pages of goat parchment, used along with papyrus as paper in Ancient Greece borrowed into Persian دفتر: daftar meaning book,registry, and in modern time office or bureau.,)
has as origin the ancient Greek word διφθέρα (difthera) and/or the later version διφθέριον(diftherion). Similar word is used in turkish (defter) .
