has its roots in the Greek language. (Demography
is the statistical
study of human
populations).
The word coined in french in 19th century, on the basis of the
ancient greek word δήμος (dimos) which had the meaning, the
people of a city and the graphy
word-forming element meaning "process of writing or
recording" or "a writing, recording, or description “
which derives from the Greek verb γράφω (grafo)
which means to write. In Turkish they use the word Demografi.
