Etymology of Arabic words: the word الجيوديسيا
means Geodesy and derives from the greek word γεωδαισία which is formed from the word γαία meaning earth/soil and from the suffix -δαιτης which derives from the verb δαίομαι meaning distribute / allocate. In Turkish is jeodesi.

  3. Thank you for your comments but in this Blog I search the Arabic words with probable Greek origin. The word algebra is, to my knowledge, not a loan word, at least from Greek language.
