Etymology
of Arabic words: the word الجيوديسيا
means
Geodesy and derives from the greek word γεωδαισία which
is formed from the word γαία meaning earth/soil and from the
suffix -δαιτης which derives from the verb δαίομαι
meaning distribute
/ allocate.
In Turkish is jeodesi.
Good work. I shall make a sugestion which I am sure you have already thought. What about a post for the term algebra?

ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments but in this Blog I search the Arabic words with probable Greek origin. The word algebra is, to my knowledge, not a loan word, at least from Greek language.
