Etymology
of Arabic words: the word سفود
(safoud)
means “skewer,
kebab” and according to AED Dictionary derives from the greek
language and especially from the ancient word “σποδός”
(spodos) meaning “ashes”.In mondern greek we use the word
“σουβλάκι”.
