Etymology of Arabic words: the word كولسترول
means cholesterol, has greek roots as the word cholesterol was formed on the basis of the word “chole” from the greek word χολή meaning bile, the word “steros” from the greek word στερεός meaning solid ,stiff and the suffix -ol from the Latin word oleum which derives from the greek word έλαιον meaning oil. In greek is χοληστερίνη/χοληστερόλη. In Turkish is kolesterol.
