الياقوتية هياسينث Hyacinth

Etymology of Arabic words: the words الياقوتية هياسينث
(hiasinath) , (alyakoutia) both mean Hyacinth, (the wellknown flower) seem to be loan words from the Greek language. The greek word υάκινθος (iakinthos) refers to the same flower. In Greek Mythology a divine heroe had the name Υάκινθος who was accidentally killed by his friend/lover, the god Appolo and in the place where he died, Appolo made to be emerged the above flower . In Turkish they use the words Hiyasint, yakut and sümbül (السنبل).
