Etymology of arabic words: the word سيكولوجية

(sikolozia) means Psychology and has its roots in the Greek language. The Latin word psychologia was first used by the Croatian humanist and Latinist Marko Marulić in his book, Psichiologia de ratione animae humanae in the late 15th century or early 16th century. The greek word is ψυχολογία (psihologhia) and is composed by the word ψυχή (psihi) which means soul, psyche and the word/suffix -λογος -logos, translated as "study of" or "research”. In Turkish they use the word psikoloji.
