Etymology
of Arabic words: the word سوفسطائية
(there
is also the wordسفسطة)
means sophism/Sophistry (specious but fallacious argument)
and
seems to be direct loan word from the greek language. The greek
relevant words are σόφισμα
(shofisma) and σοφιστεία
(sofistia) and derive
from the word σοφός meaning wise man,sage,savant.In Turkish is
sofizm/safsata.
