قرميدة rooftile

Etymology of arabic words: the word قرميدة
=(keramida) which means tile , rooftile seems to be from Greek origin. The greek word with the same meaning and phonetically almost identical is κεραμείδι/α (keramidi/a) and comes from the ancient greek word κεραμίς (keramis) and/or κέραμος (keramos) in use till today. In Turkish they use the word kiremit.
