إنجيل gospel/bible
Etymology of Arabic words: the word إنجيل
(intzil) which means gospel/bible, is via probably the Coptic language  from greek origin. The greek word
is ευαγγέλιον (evanghelion) has the same meaning and is composed by the
words ευ (ef) (=good) and αγγελία (aghelia) (=message).
 For the
christians the word ευαγγέλιον at the time period when gospel appeared
had the meaning of joyous message. The gospel was written in Greek
language, which was at that time spoken by many people in Egypt and
Palestine. In Turkish they use the word İncil.
